Motorbike rant! November 14, 2007

Did I miss the part in the Highway Code where motorbikes have completely different rules to car drivers? Last night, as I drove along at the correct speed limit, I had a motorbike drive right up my backside, then as soon as he could, her overtook me, and shot off into the distance!
It suddenly hit me that this is no new thing, and in fact happens all the time. When we’re following the speed limit, how comes bikes feel they can go well over it?!
You got me. I’ve always found them a pain in the neck. We get them a lot on mountain roads up here.
Because they think they RULE THE ROAD!! Grrrrrrrrrr. It’s times like that you wish you had a beebee gun handy. (How does one spell beebee???)
I went to Amsterdan for my 21st birthday and discovered that cyclists and motorcyclists consider themselves to be pedestrians, as when the traffic lights turn red, they keep right on going! I nearly got knocked down several times that way.
Obviously, that should have read “AmsterdaM” - LOL!
