The dreaded letter has arrived from school.. on World Book Day (Thursday!), they want the children to come to school dressed as a character from their favourite book.. bringing that book with them.
Ok, so it’s a nice idea.. but what on earth am I meant to come up with?! It’s got to be a recognisable book character, they have to own said book, plus it’s got to be warm enough to be worn all day.. in March!
For example, Amy has a cute little ‘Dora The Explorer’ outfit.. yes, she’s a TV character, but Amy has enjoyed her fair share of Dora books.. but it’s shorts and a t-shirt! Not exactly the most sensible outfit to wear all day when it’s cold!
I need ideas please.. and I need them fast!

Give her an umbrella and have her go as Mary Poppins!
Oh dear, I remember having to do that for robbie! Soooo hard, he always went as a pirate……..
Good luck! x
Raven, she’d need the long coat and bag too! Nici, I have two of them to think about.. there’s nothing in the dressing up bag that really fits Beth (we’ve thought about a pirate), and Amy’s outfits would be too cold.
Um…Harry? Hermoine?? Sarah in the Secret Garden? It’s hard to know when I don’t know what Beth has read.
A nightie and a robe—Wendy from Peter Pan?
Katherine, that’s part of the problem.. she hasn’t yet read many of the ‘classic’ books – and even if we cheat, whatever I think of, she doesn’t have the right clothes!
‘Attila’, I thought about Wendy last night, but no one owns a nightie (they both like their pjs)!
Don’t forget I have Amy to sort aswell!
put a long sleeved shirt and tights under the Dora outfit has beth read any Dr who books? She could be an assistant or alien?
